Another summer has come and gone, but the memories made by the youth at Hornell Area Concern for Youth (HACY) will last a lifetime! This year was packed with exciting activities and adventures, providing our young people with opportunities for exploration, learning, and pure summer fun.

One of the highlights was a trip to the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, NY. The vast array of animals, from majestic lions to playful penguins, sparked awe and wonder in our youngsters. They learned about different habitats, conservation efforts, and the importance of protecting wildlife. The trip wasn't just about the animals, though. The bus ride there and back provided a chance for socialization and bonding among the youth participants, creating lasting friendships.

Another fantastic event was HACY's participation in the Strong Kids Safe Kids event held in Bath, NY. This event focused on promoting healthy lifestyles and safety awareness. Our youth had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, from obstacle courses to bike safety demonstrations. The Strong Kids Safe Kids event not only provided a fun day out but also instilled valuable life lessons in our participants.

Beyond these specific events, HACY offered a plethora of other summer activities to keep the youth engaged. These included swimming trips, movie nights, and even volunteering opportunities within the community. The variety ensured there was something for everyone, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within the HACY family.
