Working Together to Tackle Important Issues Affecting Young People in the Hornell Area

In today’s society, safeguarding the well-being of our youth is paramount. Recognizing this imperative, Hornell Area Concern for Youth (HACFY) has forged a meaningful partnership with the Steuben Prevention Coalition, an alliance dedicated to substance abuse prevention and promoting wellness in the Steuben County area. Together, these organizations are actively collaborating to address the issue of creating a safer, healthier environment for the community’s youth.

At the heart of this partnership lies a shared commitment to fostering positive change and empowering youth to make informed, responsible decisions. Through collaborative efforts, HACFY and the Steuben Prevention Coalition have amplified their impact and reached a wider audience with their prevention initiatives.

One of the key focus areas of this partnership is preventing underage alcohol consumption. Both organizations recognize the detrimental effects that alcohol can have on young individuals, including impaired judgment, increased risk-taking behavior, and long-term health consequences. By working together, HACFY and the Steuben Prevention Coalition implement evidence-based strategies, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives to educate youth about the dangers of underage drinking and provide them with the tools and resources needed to make positive choices.

From hosting educational workshops and awareness campaigns to organizing community events, mentoring services, and advocacy efforts, HACFY and the Steuben Prevention Coalition actively engage with youth, parents, schools, and local stakeholders to create a supportive network that promotes substance-free lifestyles.

Through their collaborative approach, these organizations are not only addressing the immediate challenges posed by underage alcohol consumption but also laying the groundwork for long-term prevention and intervention efforts. HACFY and the Steuben Prevention Coalition are paving the way for a brighter, healthier future for the Hornell area by fostering a culture of resilience, empowerment, and community support.

This partnership exemplifies the power of collaboration in effecting positive change. Together, these organizations are making strides in preventing underage alcohol consumption and creating a safer, more vibrant community for generations to come.
